Straus Therapy Cost & Insurance

My fees are in line with other providers in the San Diego area with similar training and experience. I am an in-network provider with Aetna and Medicare offering tele-health therapy for individual sessions throughout California.  Couples therapy is offered as a private-pay service only, as it falls outside the scope of what insurance plans typically cover.  

For clients with other insurance plans, coverage for individual mental health services is often available for out-of-network providers. If you’re interested in working together, I recommend contacting your insurance provider to check your out-of-network mental health benefits and verify if telehealth services are eligible for reimbursement. I’m happy to provide a detailed statement (a “superbill”) upon request, which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

My rates per therapy hour are: $160 Individual therapy; $180 Couples therapy

A "therapy hour" is typically 45-55 minutes
